BADESCHIFF

Eichenstrasse 4 / 533 2030

Surely one of the most unusual places for a dip is this former barge turned swimming pool and moored in the Spree river. In summer, the ambience is full-on Ibiza with day-time tanning and night-time partying. In winter, a small sauna is added and it's all covered by a futuristic glass roof. Very unique, very Berlin.

BODEMUSEUM

Bodestrasse 1-3

Wedged onto the northern tip of Museum Island, this venerable neobaroque structure reopened in restored splendour in late 2006. It again showcases the finest in sculpture from late antiquity onward, including Roman sarcophagi, Byzantine ivory carvings and medieval carved altars. Rare coins and medals and Old Masters provide further eye candy.
